Laura Milner Whittenburg

Laura  Milner Whittenburg, age 73, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Pearland, Texas. She was born on March 31, 1951, to Veronica and Joseph J. Ross in Houston, Texas. Growing up, her family split their time between Houston and the Galveston Bay. She spent the last 24 years of her life in Montgomery, Texas, following a distinguished career as an award-winning Realtor with Henry S. Miller Real Estate in Plano, Texas.

Laura’s life was rich with roles and relationships: a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend to many. However, her most cherished role was that of Nana. Her grandchildren were the center of her universe, and she made countless special memories with them. Laura had a deep love for the water and enjoyed fishing immensely. She loved going on trips to the beaches in Florida and to the mountains in Montana with her children and grandchildren, creating unforgettable moments together. She especially adored family time at the lake house, where she was always ready to head to the dock with a fishing pole in hand.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Veronica Ross, and her brother, Ronnie Ross. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Lawrence Whittenburg; her son Don Milner Jr. and his wife Lori; her daughter Natalie Milner and her husband Joel; her stepsons Wesley Whittenburg and Kenneth Whittenburg and his wife Amy; her sister Peggy Bilancich and her husband Joe; her niece Mara Jayne Bilancich; and her treasured grandchildren Olivia Claire Milner, Catherine Elizabeth Milner, Emily Margaret Milner, Madeline Grace Milner, Andrew Hunter Milburn, and Katelyn Alise McPherson and her husband Heath.

The familiy will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m. and have a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday August 05, 2024 at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581 with Father Luis Garcia officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Houston Hospice in memory of Laura Milner Whittenburg to support patient care and family services at Houston Hospice, located at 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030 or online (http:www.houstonhospice.org).

  9. As I reflect and celebrate the life of my precious and beautiful friend of 55 years, who was closer than a sister, I will honor her with love. Lori brought joy, laughter, and love into my life and my family’s life. Her kindness was boundless and her spirit was fierce. From our adventures to the quiet moments of shared understanding, every memory is a treasure that I will cherish forever. Lori inspired my children with love and gentle kindness. I will always thank God for Lori. Although she may not be with us physically, her soul and spirit lives forever. Until we meet again my beautiful friend, you will be deeply missed. I will love you forever.
