Laura Belle Quebodeaux Pierce

Laura was born December 21, 1932, to parents Andre and Angele Quebodeaux in Duson, Louisiana. She passed away in her sleep peacefully on August 22, 2024. She was one of ten siblings and is survived by her brother Frank Quebodeaux, by her three daughters, Patti J. Pierce, Nancy L. Pierce, and Cheryl L. Patrick along with spouse Greg P. Patrick, and 2 grandchildren, D. Ryan Henson and K. Mikayla Blair, and various nieces and nephews.

Laura was both a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her home life and being in the kitchen. Celebrating holidays and trips to Galveston, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana to visit family were her most cherished activities. Cooking up dirty rice (also known as batman rice) and gumbo were her specialties. She would cook chicken in a rotisserie and baste it with Italian dressing. Boy did the house smell great on those days.

Laura raised her children while working in retail at Macy’s. Later in retirement, she and her daughter, Cheryl, became partners owning and running a day care center. She did all the cooking for the children.

A kind and giving spirit were always present in Laura’s day-to-day life experiences. She was truly a genuine beauty both inside and outside. We will deeply miss our Laura Belle!

A celebration of life will be held soon via a zoom meeting.  Please let us know if you are interested in joining us. We would like for you to share your favorite memories of Laura during the celebration.

  1. Patti, Nancy, and Cheryl, I am so very sorry to hear about Belle. I have so many memories of her, along with you three girls. I guess Belle and Patti are the first people I remember, as I was two when we all lived in the duplexes off of Strawberry and Southmore. She was such a sweet person. Whenever I went to Foley’s, later Macy’s, at Almeda, I always looked for her, to say hi and visit for a few minutes. I credit her with being the person to encourage my love for Louisiana, so much so, that I went to college in Lafayette. I have thought of her often over the years. Rest In Peace Belle!
