Kelly Kristine Curnutt Simpton
Kelly Kristine Curnutt Simpton passed away unexpectedly after a chronic liver condition quickly turned into acute failure. Kelly was born on June 19, 1969 in Bremerton, Washington, the home of her mother, (Anna) Kristine Anderson Curnutt, and she was later joined by sister Kari, and her brothers, Keegan (Elisha) Curnutt and Kyle (Desta) Curnutt.
Her father, Randall (Randy) Curnutt worked for an oil company and his career took the family to Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Abu Dhabi, and Nigeria. Kelly grew up and thrived in the Aramco communities in Saudi Arabia, including meeting the love of her life, Daniel (Danny) Simpton, the man with whom Kelly would eventually build her own family in Dickinson, Texas several decades later. Daughter Kevan Kristine was born in 1995, daughter Kaley was born in 2011, and son Kasen was born in 2014. Together, Kelly and Danny created a blended family community with Danny’s children: Cassandra, Daniel Jr., Trent, Stuart, Casey, Chelsea, and Breigh.
Kelly defied ordinary descriptions because she was a hundred different things to hundreds of people. She lived and loved loudly and without apology. She believed that love was something you did to show how you felt and that words without action were meaningless. “Show, Don’t Just Tell” was her abiding philosophy. Her mourners can remember her best by showing the people you love how much you cherish them.
Kelly was preceded in death by many beloved family members, including grandparents Genevieve and Arnold Anderson (Bremerton, WA) and Wilburn and Angelina Curnutt (Waco, TX). She is survived by family members that include parents, Randy and Kristine Curnutt, siblings Kari Milone, Keegan Curnutt, and Kyle Curnutt, nephews Hudon, Lachlan, and Holden Curnutt, her niece Dylan Curnutt, her aunts Delaine Rutt, Arlene Rice-Krevy, Corinne Anderson, Nancy (Travis) Stone, Melinda (Troy) Dodd, and cousins Justin Rice, Lacy Dodd Belote, Tripp, and Tyler Stone.
The spirt of Kelly shines on through the lives of her children, Kevan, Kaley, and Kasen, as well as the family she and Danny blended and created together. In lieu of flowers, please visit https://gofund.me/eee04df0, a fund created for the sole and exclusive benefit of her children and husband.
In her honor a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.
Such a beautiful soul. She will be missed by many.
