Katherine Burroughs Wentzel
Katherine Burroughs Wentzel was born in Spokane, WA, on October 2,1928, and passed away September 30, 2017. Kay was a nineteen-year resident of Manvel, TX. Before that, she lived in Pearland, TX, for thirty-five years. Mrs. Wentzel was a teacher at Milby High School. She continued to teach at and eventually retired from Houston Community College. Kay also enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Bay Area Quilt Guild.
She is preceded in death by: parents, William Edwin Chase and Lillian Satterly; husband of 44 years, Robert Henry Burroughs; daughter, Susan Johnson; son, George Burroughs; and grandson, William Ford Johnson.
Kay leaves behind to cherish her memory: husband of nineteen years, Louis Albert Wentzel Sr.; daughter, Jo Lindberg, husband David; sons: William Burroughs, wife Jewell, and Steven Burroughs; sister, Frances Chase Tice; grandchildren: Nicole Davis, husband Christopher, Robert Johnson, Cecil Johnson Jr., Briana Marshall, George Johnson, Lauren Janecek, husband Kevin, Zachary Johnson, and Mark Lindberg; and great grandchildren: Madison Rank, Mason Rank, and Baylee Marshall.
Family will be receiving visitors Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin Friday, October 6, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home. Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX.

What a beautiful woman she was! I know she left her mark on her immediate family and friends, but the countless other lives she touched as a teacher are immeasurable.
