Karen Fronick

Karen Marie (Olsen) Fronick died unexpectedly on November 30, 2020 in Houston Texas at the age of 68. Karen was born on June 5, 1952 in Richmond Heights, Missouri to Frank & Lucille Olsen.

Karen is survived by her husband, David Fronick; daughter, Barbara Sicola and husband Louis; brother Gerald Olsen and wife Genevieve; brother in law William Fronick and wife Ginger; granddaughters Zoe Sicola & Emily Sicola; great granddaughter Penelope Sicola. Karen is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lucille Olsen, of St. Louis Missouri; grandson Anthony Sicola of Houston Texas.

Karen graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1970 and Meramec Community College in 1973 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. Karen married David Fronick, her high school sweetheart in 1973. The couple was blessed with 1 child Barbara.

Karen was an accomplished RN. Karen spent most of her career as an RN working in Michigan, Missouri and Texas. She loved working in the ER and ICU taking care of others. Later she transitioned to a Legal Nurse Consultant working in Texas.

Karen was a generous individual who loved singing in her church choir, spending time with her family, and her love of animals. In St. Louis, she was very active at St. Joan of Arc Church as a Volleyball coach, Homecoming Chairman, member of the athletic association, room mother, and Girl Scout Leader. Karen was an active and dedicated member of the St. Clare of Assisi Church singing in the choir, volunteering with church activities, and assisting at Knights of Columbus functions. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. She was an avid collector of Hummel’s Figurines. Karen supported her husband’s love of Lionel Trains traveling around the country to train shows, conventions, and helping at TCA chapter, division and national meets. Karen will be deeply missed by all. She will always be loved and remembered by family and friends.

Funeral schedule:

Visitation on Sunday December 6, 2020 at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd. Webster, TX 77598. Visitation Hours 5 PM to 6 PM for Family and 6 PM to 8 PM for Relatives and Friends. A vigil service is scheduled for 7 PM followed by a Rosary at 7:30 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday December 7, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 3131 Eldorado Blvd. Houston Texas 77059.

Interment on Thursday December 10 at 10:45 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125. Do to Covid restrictions attendance limited to family members.

Memorial Mass on Friday December 11 at 10:00 AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5800 Oleatha Ave, St. Louis, MO, 63139.
