Kacey Elizabeth Oinonen

Kacey Elizabeth Oinonen, 35, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on November 19, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1989, in Houston, Texas.  She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years Nick Oinonen and the light of her life, her son, Neil. Parents Ron and Kayla Marshall, sister Karri Dillard (Jonathon) and brother Ryan Marshall (Trina). Father-in-law Mark (Julie), mother-in-law Paula Oinonen, sister-in-law Ashley Oinonen, and many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Kacey. Along with grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins.    Kacey was a lifelong resident of the Houston area where she made a positive impact on everyone she met. She graduated from Sam Houston State University and went on to serve her community as a kindergarten teacher until her medical retirement.   Kacey bravely battled cancer for the past 5 years and did so with grace, style and her ever-present smile. During her free time, Kacey loved to paint, craft and spend time with her family and friends. You never had to ask if Kacey was happy- she always was, and she would make you happy too. To know Kacey, was to love Kacey. Her unique sense of humor could make anyone laugh, and the way she lived her life served as an inspiration for all of us. Kacey was full of sunshine, which was fitting since yellow was her favorite color.   Although we can’t help but feel the deepest of sorrow right now, we take solace in knowing that our angel is home where we will one day be reunited. “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.” -Winnie the Pooh.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the organization Sisters Helping Sisters. This amazing organization stood by Kacey during her battle with cancer.
