Judy Kaye Homrighaus

Judy Kaye Homrighaus, 76, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She was born on September 5, 1948 in Galveston, TX to Robert (Bob) and Barbara Homrighaus, as their first child.

Judy was raised in Galveston amongst many family members and friends, graduating from Ursuline High School and then attending Sacred Heart Dominican College, Galveston College and later graduating from College of the Mainland.  She faced a variety of medical challenges over the years (epilepsy, MS, cancer) but maintained an upbeat spirit, seeking joy in life and staying strong in her faith in Jesus. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Barbara Homrighaus; her sister, Ronda Homrighaus; and her nephew, Zack Homrighaus.  She will be missed by her surviving siblings: Ken & Barbara Homrighaus; Jan & John Pringle; Larry & Todd Homrighaus. Her nieces and nephew: Melissa Gibbs, Lauren Hauser, Erin Hoekstra, Samantha Pringle, Ariel Homrighaus and Christian Homrighaus.

The family will receive those wishing to pay their respects at Crowder Funeral Home, 401 Texas Ave., in La Marque on October 1, 2024 from 10 am – 12 pm. The graveside service and burial will follow and be held at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Freeway Dickinson, Texas 77539 on October 1, 2024 at 2 pm.

    • May God give you all comfort. I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed her friendship on Facebook when she was able to be on. I am sure it was Barbara that connected us on Facebook. It seems like it was a while back since she was actively posting.

  4. My deepest condolences to Judy’s family. We met at St. Patrick’s School in kindergarten and entered Dominican College in Houston together. We kept in touch until she was unable to continue electronic communication. Even though I lost contact & information about a mailing address, I continued to wish her a Happy Birthday every year on September 5th. In Heaven, Judy, you are now free of the challenges you endured over the last 50+ years. Love and friendship always, Jennifer

    • Jennifer – So happy to see your comments. This is Ken, Judy’s brother. I remember you from my childhood, but couldn’t find a way to contact you to let you know about Judy. I recall several of Judy’s friends – you, Margo, Paula & Carla. Have some old photos that I would be happy to share with you. Please reach out if you would like to see them.
