Judy Ann Johnson (Jurney)
Judy Ann Johnson (Jurney), 82, of Humble, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on March 7, 2025. Born on August 5, 1942, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Thelma McCombs (Duke) and Herbert Jurney, Judy was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her. Judy dedicated many years of her life to the Humble School District, where she served with unwavering commitment and passion. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Johnson; her parents, Thelma McCombs (Duke) and Herbert Jurney; and her cherished sister, Jeanie Johnson.
Judy is survived by her loving daughters, Jamie Ricketts and her husband Dennis, and Tammy Johnson; her sons, Darrel Johnson and Johnnie Johnson, along with his partner Mary Lawrence; and her brother, Tommy Jurney. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great–great-grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
A woman of many passions, Judy found joy in traveling and exploring new places, with a special fondness for Dollywood, where she created lasting memories. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of delicious meals, and her home was a haven for children, as she welcomed them with open arms, treating each one as if they were part of her family. Judy had a zest for life that was infectious; she loved shopping and embraced every moment with a spirited enthusiasm that was uniquely hers. Described as compassionate, loving, respectful, and caring, Judy also had a delightful side of spitfire that endeared her to many. Though she traveled far and wide, her heart always found its way back to Texas, where she cherished the time spent with her family.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble, Texas.
In honoring Judy’s memory, let us remember her vibrant spirit and the love she shared so generously. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
