Joseph Daniel Young
Joseph Daniel Young of La Marque, Texas passed away December 25, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 25, 1940 in Orange, Texas, the son of James Harrison and Elizabeth May Young.
Joe worked as a maintenance technician in the Gulf Port Ship Yard in Port Author, Texas. He later built and retired from a successful career as a machinist and maintenance technician for Amoco Chemical in Alvin, Texas.
Joe met and married the love of his life, Prentice Maurine Jeans in Mauriceville, Texas. They were married on December 10, 1960 and were together for sixty-one wonderful years. His dedication to his family was always first and he loved them as much as they loved him. There was never a doubt of where his priorities were when it came to his family. His Christian faith was strong and was the foundation for the life he built throughout the years.
An avid fisherman, Joe loved to fish with his kids. He also enjoyed home cooked meals, gardening, dominoes, and taking his family on camping trips. Joe was a wonderful husband, daddy, grandpa (Boppie) and friend. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed. We know he is happy, healed and enjoying the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Maurine Young; his children, Rhonda Young of New Port Richey, Florida, Lori Young of La Marque, Texas, Gregory and his wife, Laurie Young of Katy, Texas; his only grandchild, Cameron Young of Katy, Texas and his sister, Pearl McGallin of Mauriceville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, James Harrison Young, mother, Elizabeth May Young, and brothers, Jimmy Lee Young and Jasper Young.
