John “Jack” Thomas Riordan
John “Jack” Thomas Riordan, of League City, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his home in League City at the age of 87.
Jack was born December 6th in Yankton, South Dakota, to Gerald and Helen Riordan.
Jack left a smile on everyone’s face that he met. He loved to entertain and took great joy in being with people. Jack graduated from Creighton University and spent nearly 30 years working at Honeywell and IBM. Jack had a passion for teaching and encouraging people and spent much of the last 30 years doing exactly that. He was a vital part of his church and donated his time willingly. You would find him serving weekly at the food truck helping people in need. His hobbies ranged from photography to gardening and even scuba diving in his younger years. Most knew him as a silly, happy, charismatic man with a love for the Lord. He was a faithful servant and belonged to Friendswood Methodist Church.
Jack is preceded in death by Gerald Riordan, Helen Riordan, sister Patty Riordan and wife of 57 years, Jean Riordan.
He leaves behind wife Mary Catherine Gaffney, brother Robert Riordan and sister Julia O’Sullivan, son Bill Riordan and wife Amy, daughter Suzie Pupkiewicz and husband Dave, daughter Barbie Scott and husband Stuart; grandchildren Alex Riordan, Colin Riordan and wife Kendall, Katie McDowell and husband Ian, Ben Pupkiewicz and wife Kayla, Rebecca Scott, and Cameron Scott.

Donations may be made to Friendswood Methodist Church and the Alzheimer’s Association.
I remember Jack from my late 1980s days at IBM FSD in Clear Lake and, if my memory serves me correctly, Jack was in Gaithersburg and maybe Manassas back in the seventies in my early days. Great guy. My condolences to Jack’s family.
Jack was our beloved neighbor in Clearlake Forest. He always let our kids run through their yard and work in their garden and was always open to having a beer. We are so saddened to hear about his passing. Kathy and Jeremy
