John Edward Clement, Jr.
John Edward Clement, Jr. departed this life on Sunday, January 31st, 2016, at the age of 82. John Jr. was born on January 10, 1934 in Atlantic City, New Jersey the son of John Edward and Dorothy (Chatman) Clement. He grew up in Pleasantville, New Jersey, a small island off the coast. As a young man, he enjoyed playing football and was an avid Boy Scout. As a senior in high school he joined the local fire department as a volunteer fireman. After graduating high school, John Jr. went to Annapolis Naval Academy. He honorably served in the Air Force as a Navigator/Bombardier while living in Houston, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana. John Jr. worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass for 20 years and later for LAMB Industries working in the oilfield drilling services company. He enjoyed camping throughout his life and woodworking in his later years. John was a dedicated family man and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Csik; daughters, Laura Istre and Tammy Clement; son-in-law, Dennis Waters; and grandson, Christopher Wolfe. He is survived by Daisy Hicks, longtime companion and dear friend; Francis Averett, the mother of his children; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Mary Clement; daughter, Elizabeth Waters; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Crowder Funeral Home and a graveside service will be held at 11:15am on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston Texas.
