JoAnn Carlton Radney
JoAnn Carlton Radney was called home peacefully on May 25, 2015 and was residing at Autumn Leaves, a memory care facility, in Pearland. JoAnn was born on October 11, 1924 in Vernon, Texas to Lena Crain Carlton and Arthur Carlton. She graduated Gladewater High School as Valedictorian of her class and went on to study business at Tyler Junior College.
On December 31, 1945, while he was on leave from the war, she married the love of her life Ridgley Dexter Radney and began her life as a beautiful and loving wife, mother and friend to many. She survived her husband of almost 70 years by 6 months. She leaves behind her son Larry Radney, wife Lou, grandchildren: Travis Radney, Erin Gaete, Derek Radney, Kenneth Priesmeyer, Luke Ture and Evan Ture. Thru the years JoAnn bore the loss of son James and daughter Kelly. The light of her life in recent years were her great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Calvin Radney and her new twin boys: Owen and Rhett Gaete that recharged her with every visit. Joann was a lady in every sense of the word and loved her role as wife, mother and friend. Her kind and loving presence will be missed. Her family would like to thank caregiver AnneMarie for the love she brought into Grandmom’s life and to Autumn Leaves Pearland and the many beautiful ladies that loved and teased with her there – they were such a blessing in her final months.
A life celebration will be held for the family at Cook Walden Cemetery in Austin, Texas on Friday, May 29, 2015. Memorials can be made to Seabrook United Methodist Church, Seabrook, Texas.
