Joann Camp Miles

Joann Camp Miles, 75, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Joann was born on April 13, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas to loving parents Leslie Harry “Buster”  & Iris “Ann” (Starnes) Camp.

Joann is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Johnny Camp. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Clark and husband Michael, granddaughter Tyna Botello (Chris) and great-grandchildren Chaston, Tanner, and Cayden, grandson Darrell Collums (Rachell) and great-granddaughter Ayla, granddaughter Kelley Kurtz (Jeremy) and great-grandchildren Hailey and Connor, granddaughter Denay Pool and great-grandchildren Jaiden and Avah, niece Stephanie Barron (Frank) and their children Kasey and Julie, nephew John Camp and his daughter Jamie, and numerous friends.

Joann attended school in Hope, Arkansas, a part of the Class of 1965. Joann was always a tiny woman but she had the most generous heart and would do anything she could for anybody. She opened her home multiple times to those that needed a place to rest their heads. Joann retired from Hewlett Packard where she was a supervisor for the assembly line. After retirement Joann had more time to devote to her artistic hobbies as well as her family.  She could look at a random rock and see something in it that no one else could. She would spend hours painting them with toothpicks and enjoyed every minute of it. It was nothing to be driving down the street and her asking her family to stop because she saw a rock she wanted. Joann was just a remarkable woman with a sense of humor. She enjoyed going on road trips with her daughter and other family, loved learning about her family’s history, and getting armpit kisses from the grandkids and then the great grandkids. Joann was truly an angel on Earth.

A visitation for Joann will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A Celebration of Life will follow at her granddaughter Kelley’s house, 3020 Cambridge Meadow Ln. Dickinson, Texas 77539.

  1. I am so privileged to have had such a wonderful Granny. I will forever hold you in my heart and will always continue to whisper I love you to the butterflies so they can deliver them to you in heaven. I hope Heaven is just as beautiful as you. Give everyone hugs for us. Hailey loves you a bushel and a peck and a huge hug around your neck. ❤

  2. God bless the family and friends with healing and peace. Joann was a dear friend through school and although we lost touch for many years, we reconnected and have enjoyed renewed friendship for the past several years. Joann loved her precious family and treasured her time spent together with them. She will be sorely missed.

  4. I love you mom. You raised me when you didn’t have to. You took me in at 3 years old and never treated me any different. You taught me how to paint, how to be kind and how to use my imagination. You are the most incredible woman I’ve ever met. I will never ever forget you. I love you more than anything. I miss you so much. And I am always always thinking of you.
