Jean Frances Redditt
Jean Frances Redditt, 94, of Houston, Texas passed away on December 8, 2022 in League City. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 25, 1928 to Dwight C. Holmes and Jewel Frances Kingrea Holmes.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Wyatt Buckner “Buck” Nesbit II and Turance “Terry” Grice Redditt.
She is survived by three children, Wyatt Buckner “Buck” Nesbit III of Alvin, Texas, Cabot “Clay” Nesbit of Sherman, Texas, and Virginia Annyce “Ginger” Torres of San Angelo, Texas, and Terry’s three children: Connie, Terry, and Cheryl. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Jewell Holmes Nestel of Lanai, Hawaii, and her cousin, Betty Johnson of Rosharon, Texas as well as six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Jean graduated with a degree in education from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1948 and from University of Houston with a Master’s Degree in 1959. Jean taught school for 30 years at many levels but primarily in elementary schools. She became an accomplished artist after retirement and also enjoyed reading, gardening, music, and helping others.
Her family and friends will miss Jean greatly, and they would like to thank Jean’s good friend, Carol Nance, for her long-term care of Jean. As a result of Jean’s love of reading and her desire to share this love, Jean’s family has requested a donation to the Books Between Kids children’s reading program be given in lieu of flowers.
