Jane Alma Vande Zande
Jane Alma Vande Zande, long time resident of Dickinson, Texas and recently of Tomball, Texas passed from this life, Friday, May 19, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born to proud parents Peter and Fannie Veltman, December 31, 1923 in Holland, MI. She was the granddaughter of Dutch immigrants.
Jane was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived a magical childhood surrounded by lots of family in the midst of the Depression and World War II being a part of the Greatest Generation. She was born and married in her childhood home. Music was a big part of her life and she was always ready for adventure. She loved well, opening her home to all and was known for her great hugs. She was a faithful member of the Dutch Reformed and Presbyterian Churches during her lifetime. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the staff and residents of Southern Knights Assisted Living.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband Lyle, beloved son Karl and brother Fritz.
Jane leaves behind to cherish her life and memories, sons, Paul and wife Dwana Vande Zande , Peter and wife Sigrid Vande Zande, grandchildren, Meredith Smith and husband Zach, Christopher Vande Zande and wife Amy, Zachary Vande Zande, Nathan Vande Zande, and Nicholas Vande Zande, great grandchildren, Alex , Luke, Ryan and Isaac.
There will be a visitation on Friday, May 26, 2017 in her honor from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m at First Presbyterian Church in Tomball, Texas with a funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
Aunt Jane lived a great life. I wished we had lived closer because I didn’t get enough time with her. Sending love to the Vande Zande family and friends. I pray you are comforted in your loss by amazing memories and each other.
Jane was a very kind & friendly person. She always had a big smile & a way to make one feel welcomed
I worked w/Jane and she was the nicest sweetest, nicest person I ever met.
She was a loving mother to her sons whom she loved dearly.
