James Paul Tullis
James Paul Tullis passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 in Galveston, Texas at the age of 71. He was born on April 4, 1952 in San Leon, Texas to Cressley and Irene Tullis. James lived in the League City/Dickinson area for over 40 years with the love of his life Valerie. Not one to be afraid of work, James worked in the grocery business from a young age and quickly mastered every element of the trade. Always with a servant’s heart, James devoted his time to serving at his church in every way he could and when not helping others, he could be found in his garden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cressley and Irene Tullis and his brother, Carl Tullis. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Tullis and two children, James Paul Tullis, Jr and his wife Katie, and Stephanie Jo Lair and her husband Michael Lair; His beloved grandchildren: Lindsey, Noah, Natalie, Emily, Alyssa, Elanor, Asher, Isaac, and OC; And his brother Earl Tullis and nieces and nephews.
There are few that cast as long a shadow as James and while he wasn’t known for many words his life will echo on in those that he touched for generations to come. James was firm in his faith and his family rests confidently in the belief that he now tends a weed free garden in the presence of his Savior.
A service to honor James’ life will take place on June 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at Texas Avenue Community Church 320 Texas Ave, League City, TX 77573
