James Edward Cunningham, of Bayou Vista, Texas passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the age of 68 at MD Anderson hospital in Houston. He was born May 8, 1949 in Stamford, Connecticut to James E. Cunningham, Sr. and Barbara M. Cunningham. James graduated from Sarasota High School and attended Manatee Community College. Following his service in the Army. James was an active member of the Dickinson, Texas VFW. James loved sports, crawfish boils, living on the water, time with family and friends and his dogs Lucy, Max and Baby. James is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Cynthia Wilson Cunningham and his father James E. Cunningham, Sr.  He is survived by his mother Barbara Pokorny Elliot from Bradenton, Florida, sisters Wendy Cunningham Warren from Bradenton, Florida, Lynne and Chuck Wickersham from Myakka City, Florida,  step-daughters Shelly Cheatham and husband Chip, Leslie Barmore and husband Jerry, step-son Charlie Crider and wife Jennifer, granddaughter Ashley Gracia and husband Gene, multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
