James Allen Scruggs
James Allen Scruggs, 73, Jimmy to friends and family passed, August 8th, 2024. A proud native Texan, born to Edwin Theodore Scruggs and Cora Elain Allen Scruggs. During his full and happy life Jimmy was a successful businessman who nurtured the family business into what it is today. The Scruggs Company was originally a joint venture between brothers that grew to even greater heights under Jimmy’s expert guidance after his brother Ted’s passing. He was a man known for his caring and generous nature that loved his family, friends, music, and his business. A man with a penchant for working in his yard, fishing and a picturesque water view. He often said he had everything a man could ever ask for.
Funeral services will be held at Crowder Funeral Home on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 2 p.m. The viewing will take place between 1 and 2 p.m. at 111 E Medical Center Blvd. Webster, TX 77598. The burial is to be held at Seabrook Cemetery immediately following the service.
Rest in Peace my friend! You will never know how much we all loved and will miss you! Thank you for all of the laughs, see you later Jimmy.
To the Scruggs Family: Jimmy was a dear friend for 23 years. He is dearly missed, and I cherish memories of our friendship. I loved how he regularly said, “I have everything a man could ever ask for.” Marj, while we have yet to meet, he always beamed as he talked about you, which was always. Pease and comfort to you all as you celebrate his life.
Jennifer we love you and JD so much. Know that even though your Dad isn’t here in the physical sense, his love for you two continues on for forever.
Jimmy will be missed, he was such a nice person.
Jimmy was a wonderful man and an industry icon. So helpful and kind, he will be dearly missed.
Rest in peace old friend. You always told me the framed dollar on your wall was from the order I placed when you took over the business. I’ll remember forever.
