Jacqueline Marie Smith
Jacqueline Marie Smith passed away December 15, 2024, at the age of 79. She grew up in Pineville, Louisiana and was a resident of Seabrook, TX since 1971.
Jacqui’s love and generosity for her loved ones knew no bounds. She was known for her enthusiasm, her sharp intellect and her deep love of dogs. Offbeat humor and refreshing frankness were her trademarks. She loved cooking, travel, sewing and music.
Jacqui was valedictorian at Pineville High School, graduated with honors from Louisiana College and received her master’s degree at the University of Houston. She touched many lives as a teacher at Clear Creek High School for 30 years. Previously she taught in Louisiana, Georgia and at Clark Air Base in the Philippines.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Smith and her brother Crawford Malone. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elvena Malone, her father Graydon Malone and her beloved pups, Gracie, Addie, Sunny, Lady, Chocolate and Susie.
Although Jacqui is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
Services will be at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd, Webster, TX on Monday, December 30. Public visitation will begin at 10:30 am followed by a service at 11:30 am. Afterward there will be a procession and a 1:30 pm graveside service at Houston National Cemetery,10401 Veterans Memorial Drive.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue (GBGRR.org) in Jacqui’s name.
A Celebration of Life memorial is planned at a date yet to be determined.
Jacqui was my sister in law and she and I love to talk! We both have a love of dogs, especially cocker spaniels. You were kind, funny and always had a smile on your face.
I will miss you!
