Isabel V. Suarez
Isabel V. Suarez, 81, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 in Houston, Texas. She was born in 1938 in Cuba to Spanish immigrants Antonio and Manuela and was the wife of the late Jesus J. Suarez.
In 1961, after Cuba was overtaken by a communist regime, Isabel and Jesus left their once vibrant life in Cuba with their two young children to start a new life in the United States. As a young professional, Isabel enjoyed an exciting career as a commercial artist. She had a passion for fashion design, painting and sketching and loved to spend her time with family, friends, traveling the world and volunteering within her community.
Isabel is survived by: her children, Jesus F., Isabel, Stephen and their spouses Nancy, Syed and Lindy, respectively; grandchildren, David, Sarah, Suzanne, Shaun, Chelsea, Stephanie and Kaylee; great grandchildren, Zain and Alexandra; brother, John and his wife Zulima; nephew and niece, John and Michelle.
Isabel was a fun, loving, kind and beautiful woman who cherished her family. She will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery next to her husband, the love of her life.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Dear Jesus, Nancy and the entire Suarez Family,
We are so sorry about your mother’s passing. May the Lord welcome her into his heavenly home with His loving arms! God bless your family and keep Isabel’s precious memories close to your heart.
Family and friends,
I believe that we truly honored abuela in celebrating her life and remembering the joy that she shared with us all through many decades. I am grateful for everyone who came to support us and join in laying Isabel/Mom/Abuela to rest peacefully and surrounded by love.
-Stephanie
Dear Suarez Family,
My condolences on the loss of your beloved matriarch. While I was not fortunate to meet your Mom in her earlier years, there is no doubt she carried her loveliness, style and fantastic smile through her blessed years. She shall remain unforgettable. Thank you for sharing Isabel with me.
Peace.
