Imogene Coleman Vanya
Imogene “Jean” Conaway Vanya, 89, resident of Santa Fe, Texas, formerly of Livingston, Texas passed from this life, December 18, 2023. Imogene was born in Eupora, Mississippi to parents, James Baker Coleman, Sr. and Agatha Nowell Coleman on September 17, 1934.
She was a caring and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Imogene worked and raised her children in West Texas City, Texas. She married Jim Vanya in 1980 and they moved to Livingston, Texas where they enjoyed their family and a more leisurely lifestyle. In 2000 they moved to Santa Fe, Texas where she lived until her passing.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Jim Larkin Vanya; son, Gary “Mike” Murphy; sisters, Mattie Lou Johnson, Ann Harrison, Barbara Prevost; brothers, J.B. Coleman, Jr., Grady Lamar Coleman, and Charles “Sonny” Coleman.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Julie Ramirez and husband Albert; sons, Chris Conaway and wife Valarie and David Conaway and wife Annette; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in her honor, Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 10:00am in the Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, Hitchcock, Texas.

Julie my prayers are with you and your family. I have so many good memories of your mom working with her at wieners we had so much fun, and then going to spend time with her and Jim in Livingston was so enjoyable. Memories are what will keep y’all going on. She’s at peace and with Jim and the rest of her family and friends in Heaven.
