Hazel Oleatha Schumacher, 89, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Texas City. She was born on November 17, 1924 to John and Nora Smith in Ada, Oklahoma. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents and son Lawrence “Larry” Schumacher, Jr. She is survived by her husband Lawrence E.Schumacher,Sr. of Texas City; daughter Sherry Schumacher of LaMarque; sisters: Carol Holland of Ada, Oklahoma and Helen Bennett of Denver, Colorado; brothers: Audrey Al Smith of West Point, Texas and Darrell Dewayne Smith of Taylor, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM with a service starting at 11:00AM at the James Crowder Funeral Home in LaMarque, Texas with Pastor Rudy Rios officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
