Gustave “Gus” Mikel Manis
Gustave “Gus” Mikel Manis, 65, of Texas City passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Galveston, TX. He was born on March 4, 1952 in Texas City to Joe and Virginia Manis.
Gus was a lifetime resident of Texas City; a member of The Sons of The Republic of Texas and of Local Union 450 Operating Engineers in Texas City.
He also loved to play music.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Gus is survived by his spouse Donna Wheeler Manis; three sons: Mikel Joe Manis and wife Callie of League City, TX, Daniel Ray Manis, and Kristofer Arron Manis and wife Jennifer of Utopia, TX; sister Melody Ann Amaya of Texas City, TX; two brothers: Steven Joseph Manis, Sr. and wife Chaille of League City, TX and Robert Wayne Manis, Sr. and wife Iris of Blanchard, TX; eleven grandchildren; Erin, Destin, Jaren, Alyssa, Mikela, Madison, Skylar, Jasmine, Breanna, Isaiah and Krisjen.
A visitation will be on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00pm– 8:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, TX. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am on Friday, March 12, 2017at the James Crowder Funeral Home with Rev. William Glidden officiating.
