Gordon Lee House
On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, Gordon Lee House passed away at the age of 91.
Gordon was born in Oneida, WI to Walter and Pearl (Archiquette) House. He graduated from Haskell Institute and spent the greater part of his career with NASA. He took great pride in this and could regale his friends with stories from his many years in the space program.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret, and by siblings: Martha Jane, Ruth “Myra”, Joyce “Nori”, Walter “Junior”, James “Jimmie”, Loretta, and Reginald. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; siblings June Cornelius, and Carol Artman; and by children Allan, Jo Anne, Dan, Cathy, Scott, Susan, and Jeffery; his extended family Jennifer, Scott, and Kevin, and by many grand and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Gordon enjoyed traveling and most of all loved to play golf; he counted his hole in one
while playing with friends as a major accomplishment. Some of Gordon’s favorite memories are of his travels, walking along the Great Wall of China; following the Danube River from a tiny stream in the Alps to Vienna; strolling through Barcelona; posing in Alaska with Mt. Ranier as his backdrop; exploring Cuba’s vibrant culture; watching Kilauea erupting at night in Hawaii with treasured friends, Jim and Mary Axley, and returning to Oneida for the yearly powwow to see his friends and family.
The family would like to say thank you to the staff of the Phoenix Post Acute Facility in Texas City for their kindness and care for Mr. President AKA Gordon.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Gordon was a long time friend, traveling companion and fellow golfer of Jim and Mary Axley. We have missed him dearly but the best of care and love was given by his wife Nancy during his illness.
Gordon was a long time friend to my Mom and Dad and a great mentor and boss to myself and many others at Lockheed Martin. My Dad and Gordon’s friendship began well before I was born as their career paths overlapped from Minnesota, to California and Texas. For many years, my Mom and he were weekly golfing partners. Gordon always provided good advice and a listening ear to those of us who worked with him and as a family friend he always told wonderful stories. He will be dearly missed by my Mom and I. I hope my Dad and he are already seeing who can tell the best story in Heaven! Prayers to Nancy and all the family!

You’ll be missed uncle! My mom & I send our condolences to the family in Texas and the girls in Wisconsin.
“Uncle Patsy” we called him when he would visit us (Martha Jane’s family) in Ottawa from Haskell. After those days in the 50’s we never met again. I’ve been stationed Texas in the Air Force. So close yet so far away! RIP Uncle Patsy.
Any time I would ask Gordon how he was doing, he would say, “Super,” then have a big smile on his face and laugh. I will miss his smile and his fun sense of humor and having engaging conversations with him and Nancy. I would like to convey my condolences to Nancy and his entire family. Gordon will be missed.
