Gloria Jean (Brehmer) Petri

Gloria Jean (Brehmer) Petri born December 12, 1941 to August and Agnes Brehmer on the family farm in Bellingham, MN. She was baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church on January 1, 1942. Predeceased by her parents; son, Brent Steven; all her siblings, Vernon, Clifford, Harold, Gerald, and Violet Zahn. Gloria is survived by her husband Ronald Max of 57 years, son Timothy Jon, and several nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1959. Gloria worked for the Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis for one year in 1960 before being accepted into the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated as an RN in 1963. Gloria worked for one year at the Swedish Hospital before moving to Santa Monica, CA where she worked at the Santa Monica Hospital and met her future husband Ron. They were married on November 26, 1966 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Santa Monica. Gloria worked part time at several hospitals in the Houston Clear Lake area.

She enjoyed being a housewife and took great care of her family. Gloria served faithfully in the Stephens Ministry, the taking of blood pressures and Small Group participation for over 40 years at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She also worked at a Crisis Pregnancy Center for nine years.

Special mention to Gloria’ nursing school friends of over sixty years: Judy, Janet, Deanne, Doris, Karen, Trudy and Carol. They met together many times over the years.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. A service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
