Jean Bump, 87, of La Marque, passed away Thursday September 21, 2023. Jean was born October 12, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York to Charles D. and Margaret Smith.

Jean worked at American National Insurance Co. Right after her retirement she became a forever Lifelong Learning student at the College of the Mainland. She was always willing to learn something new. Some of the many classes were pencil drawing, beaded jewelry, and Brazilian embroidery. Her love for Roy Rogers and Dale Evans was forever.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chuck of 64 years. Jean is survived by son: Eddie & Tracy Bump and daughter: Linda & Joe Esqueda. Six grandchildren: Christina & Mike Caulkins, Cassy Strickland, Tracy & Bret Perthuis, Marlesa & Chris Morton, Joey & Anabel Esqueda and Monica & Greg Gangluff. Twelve great-grandchildren: Dominic, Israel, Citlali, Ty, Brayden, Charlotte, Anthony, Camden, Annabeth, Colsen, Brycen and Geoffrey. She also has many grand and great grand fur babies.

A graveside service will be held for family at a later date. Donations may be made in memory of any of her passions: animal shelters, food pantries, and libraries.
