Geneva Louise Vann, 75, of Santa Fe, Texas passed away December 19, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Nolanville, TX on August 19, 1939. Geneva graduated from Texas City High School in 1957 and married her Dickinson sweetheart, Lee Roy Vann, that same year. In 1958 they moved to Santa Fe, and close to this time, Mrs. Vann became a member of the Church Of Christ in Dickinson where she faithfully attended for over 50 years. She was a dedicated employee of Union Carbide and retired after over 20 years of service. Mrs. Vann enjoyed being a part of the Union Carbide Bowling League, traveling to visit family and friends, going to the deer lease with her husband Lee Roy, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and being a proud supporter of the youth involved in the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo where her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren spent time showing livestock and poultry.

During their retirement together, Mr. and Mrs. Vann spent their winters, and much of the rest of the year at San Luis Pass State Park where Mrs. Vann enjoyed being a recurring volunteer park host, and Mr. Vann fished for the big one. Over the years, they formed many close friendships with others who vacationed there.

Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Vann, parents, Virgil and Gladys Gallaway, and sister, Jenny Lind Trammel.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her siblings: Virgie Matejka and husband Bobby, Fred Gallaway and wife Linda, and V.J. Gallaway Jr. and wife Pam; her children: Kathryn Vann, Rene’ Reagan and husband Mark, Kavin Day Vann and wife Debi, and Kasey Lee Vann and wife Kay; grandchildren: Matthew Lee Lambert and wife Meghan, Angie Lambert-Maroul and husband John, Nicole Grubbs and husband Doug, Melissa Reagan, Garrett Reagan, JD Rogers and wife Shirley, Stephen Rogers, T.J. Rogers, Daniel Day Vann and wife Aimee, Jordan Lee Vann and Chanon Murphy; great grandchildren: Maddix, Mason, Alexis, Kelsea, Lauren, Kassidy, Landry, Lawson, Colton, Carson, Olivia Lysa, Anna Bella, De Lainey, Bailey, Cage and Emeree Day; and a countless number of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A special thank you to Mrs. Joanne Gast for being a devoted friend and sister in Christ to our mom to the very end, and also to the staff at A*Med Community Hospice & Ms. Tiffini Blank for the attentive loving care they gave to her as well.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm, officiated by Brother Larry Williams, and Brother Tom Gast.
