  3. Gary, You were such a great friend. Although I moved to NM I still cherished our friendship. You were the reason I chose #24 as my basketball number at Ruidoso High School. You will always go down as one of the Best Athletes to ever come out of Pecos. You and your family helped mold me into the man I am today.

  11. Cindy and Family, I am so heartbroken with the news of Gary’s passing. I am honored to have worked for Gary over the past 6 years, and he was a mentor to me over that time. I will remember Gary’s profound sense of humor most about him, and his joy when he spoke about his family. I always enjoyed hearing about his grandsons’ baseball games though Gary’s proud grandfather’s eyes. Gary was a warm and wise soul and I will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  14. Cindy, Derek, Robert, Carli, Sean, and Megan, I’ve been thinking of all the shared memories our families have over the years at church, holidays, and family vacations and how much your Dad/Husband was part of it all. He wasn’t usually the first to talk about something, but with his wisdom, his comment was most often the last thing that needed to be said on a subject. He was a true servant to our church family and his expertise was appreciated by all. I will miss most of all the lunches that we shared after church for so many years.
He left us too soon but please don’t dwell on what might or could have been, but perhaps spend your time appreciating how he showed his love and dedication to you in so many ways. Lastly, forgive him for those corny “dad” jokes!

  17. To the precious wife and family of Gary Rogers, we attended opposing Jr. High Schools in the same town of Pecos and there was a definite rivalry, But West Pecos Jr High had this Man playing on their team called Gary Rogers, we could not get past his talent, skills or sheer will to dominate, must have been the older brothers? We joined forces in High School to which i had an inside view of the incredible competitor, teammate, and dear friend he soon became. So many great memories on and off the field, were made with this incredibly gifted young man, as he will live in my heart, be spoken about with kind words whenever opportunity presents itself, to what a great and wonderful person he was to all those who grew up with him in Pecos Texas. I was given the gift of saying goodbye to him, but unaware he was leaving us soon, i did thank him for the memories. To all our condolences from the Arreguy family. May God’s grace, love and peace be among you all.

  22. Dear Cindy and family,
Karen and I are so sorry for your loss. May God bless and comfort you in the days to come.
Some of my earliest memories with Gary are before we started 1st grade together when we would often go to the School Store, across the street from South Pecos Elementary. Gary was always a leader, whether as Glob, a Wyoming Wildcat, Super 7 or the other nicknames we gave him. I was always proud to call him Friend and honored when he stood as my Best Man at my wedding. He touched many lives and will be missed by all.

  33. Patsy and Bobby,
You came to live on the farm just shortly after your wedding, and we grew up with your kids. We loved all of you and I especially remember granny. I will always cherish those memories that included all the boys. I got married and had moved to Fort Davis. I want to thank you for coming to Shirley’s memorial service. That was a kindness. I now know what it feels like to lose a family member, so I know what it feels.
