Fred Alfred Truex II
Fred Alfred Truex II, 68, passed away on February 12, 2022. Fred was born in Ravenna Ohio on January 3, 1954 to loving parents Fred and Donna Truex. He was a 1972 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio. Fred was married to the love of his life Susan for a wonderful 50 years. Fred and Susan moved their family from Ohio to Texas in 1990 and have been here ever since. He worked at Alltel Corporation for 38 years. Fred was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Fred was a Divemaster and got to scuba dive at different places all over the world. He also actively enjoyed hunting and fishing. Family meant the world to Fred.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents and his son Joseph Anthony Truex.
Left to cherish his life are his beloved wife: Susan ‘Sue’ Truex; sons: Fred M Truex and Greg Truex (Jessica); daughters: Michelle Sheldon (Ian) and Amanda Rhoades (Josh); sisters: Deborah Secrest and Tami Carmer. He had 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced by the family.
I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Truex’s passing. I only got to meet him one time in Alpine, Tx. He and his wife were very sweet people and fun to be with.
Fred was one of my all time favorite bosses and also a very good friend, I will certainly miss him.

Oh my sweet Jesus, Gary and I wanted to come and visit Fred and his family now that we have retired and our health was getting better. They grew up together and he had no closer friendship than with Fred. We morn his loss greatly and send all our love to the whole family and especially to you Susan.

My parents, Gail and Kay Carnahan, were great friends with Fred’s parents. All of us kids played together and made wonderful memories as children in Kent, Ohio.
