Evelyn U. Shelton
Evelyn Uldine Ventry Shelton was taken to heaven by her Lord and Savior, December 5, 2018. She was born April 5, 1928 in Hollywood, Florida (Broward County) to Martha McLendon Ventry and Edgar G. Ventry.
Evelyn was a loving mother to all. As well as a spiritual “rock”, caregiver, generous to her family and countless others.
She attended Bob Jones Bible School and College, Sevierville, Tennessee and graduated from Assemblies of God Bible School and college, Waxahachie, Texas.
She moved from Hollywood to Houston in 1981 after her husband’s death to be near her blessed mother and family.
Evelyn is proceeded by her husband Willie Lee Shelton, Sister Frances Stone and parents.
She is survived by her Son Kyle Lyn Shelton, sister Peggy Tollerene and husband Glenn Tollerene, many nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
The family thanks Charlene Jellinek for 28 months of devoted care and the nurses and aids of Baywood Crossings
The viewing will be held at Praise Chapel, 18516 TX-3 Webster, TX on Monday, December 10th, 10 A.M. The Funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. with Pastor Roy Love officiating. Burial will be at South Park Cemetery, 1310 Telephone R.D. Followed by a Reception at Praise Chapel.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was so kind to my mother through the years and especially when my mom was dying from cancer. I am in touch with our cousins in South Carolina and that’s how I heard about your mom. Please know that Neil and I remember your mother fondly and hope that if you ever get back down to Florida we would love to see you.
