Eugene “Gene” Frederick Felter, Sr., 80, of La Marque, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  He was born May 23, 1936 in Charleston, WV to Harry and Martha Felter. 

He was a resident of La Marque for 47 years.  Gene is a veteran of the United States Army and Coast Guard Reserves.  He was a member of the College View Baptist Church in Texas City, Past Worshipful Master of the La Marque Masonic Lodge and a member of the San Felipe De Austin Knights Templar Commandery No. 1 in Galveston.  Gene retired from Amoco after 35 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Martha Felter and brother Harry Calvin Felter, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Felter of La Marque, daughter Delia “Dee-Dee” Felter of La Marque; two sons: Eugene “Gene” Frederick Felter, Jr. and wife (Cynthia) of Texas City and John David Felter of La Marque; two grandchildren Eugene “Geno” F. Felter, III and Julian J. Felter and his special little buddies Anthony and Lane Byers.

A Memorial Masonic Service will be at 4:00pm on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.
