Ellis “Smitty” Hartman Smith, Jr., 64, a long time Texas resident passed away December 22, 2021 in Baytown, TX. Smitty was born in Jacksonville, FL on December 23, 1956 to Ellis and Wanda Smith, Sr. He worked with Cold Storage Construction Services in Gretna, NE for about 2 and half years.

Smitty is preceded in death by his father, Ellis Smith Sr.

He leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Pauline Smith; mother, Wanda Smith; sons: Justin Smith, wife Karen, Matthew Smith, wife Becca; step daughter, Jamie Cappen, husband Marc; step sons: Doug Sheehan, wife Melissa, and Scott Sheehan, wife Emma; sister, Judy Carrol, husband Wayne; brother, Jason Smith; grandchildren: Wyatt Smith, Levi Smith, Kaitlyn Cappen, Ashley Cappen, James Cappen, Laila Yeley, Warren Yeley, Raelynn Sheehan, and Ellie Sheehan.

Smitty loved his family with all of his heart, he was always excited about spending time with any of his 9 grandchildren.  He spoke fondly and often of growing up with his family and cousins in Florida.  He loved the water, sailing and fishing, always looking for that big catch. He will be missed every minute of every day.

His wishes were to not have a service, so please remember him as you last saw him as he always was, smiling and happy.
