Eleanor Carter Tuffly

She was a resident of St. Dominic Village for over 25 years in Houston. In 2019, she moved into Friendship Haven in Friendswood, TX due to health issues and to be closer to her children.
Eleanor loved to be active, whether it was working the register at the St. Dominic’s gift shop or cafeteria (where she didn’t retire until the age of 86), taking her daily walk around St. Dominic’s campus, playing bridge twice a week with friends or taking group trips. For many years, she was a Mass lector at Warren Chapel at St. Dominic’s and a member in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston.
Most of all, Eleanor loved her family. One of her favorite things to do was to go out to eat with family and friends whether it be at Saltgrass Steakhouse or Los Tios, or just going out to grab a really good hamburger.
Eleanor held a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar State College of Technology in Beaumont, TX. She was married to Thomas O’Brien Tuffly for 30 years.
