Edwin Jebamoni Draviam
Edwin Jebamoni Draviam of Seabrook, Texas, went to join the Lord on February 14, 2025 at the age of 78.
He was born on February 17, 1946 in Tuticorin, India to his parents, Robert and Ida Draviam. He grew up as an excellent student excelling in math and science. He was offered an opportunity to study in the U.S. and eventually earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Chemistry from Cleveland State University. Edwin married Saro Joseph on February 20, 1974 and they settled in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1982, Edwin and his young family moved to Friendswood, Texas. As a clinical chemist, his work and passion for science left a lasting impact on those who worked with him. Upon retirement, Edwin transitioned into the real estate industry, where he efficiently managed his rental properties.
A deeply spiritual man, Edwin was a devout follower of Christ, and his faith guided every part of his life. He was a Man of God, and his love for Jesus was evident in his actions, kindness, and the way he cared for his family.
Edwin found true delight in being a grandfather, or ‘Thatha’ (in Tamil), as Lydia and Anna affectionately called him. His face would light up with pride and joy whenever he spoke about them. He was always eager to hear about their achievements in school, sports, and extracurricular activities, taking immense happiness in their successes. Edwin, Saro and Arun enjoyed traveling to Wimberley, TX often to spend time with his granddaughters.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Charles Draviam, Lionel Draviam, and Kanmoni Draviam; and his two sisters, Myrtle Vincent and Stella Albert.
Edwin is survived by his beloved wife, Saro (Joseph); his son, Arun Robert, his daughter Ida (Draviam); Ida’s husband, Stephen Krause; and their daughters, his treasured granddaughters, Lydia Grace and Anna Faith. He is also survived by his two nephews and nine nieces.
He will be missed beyond measure by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Edwin’s life will be held at Crowder Funeral Home at 1645 East Main Street in League City, TX. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by a ceremony at 2:00 PM.

Baby perippa is now in the comforting arms of Jesus. Praying for your family.
Edwin Draviam is my cousin. He is very affectionate and loving person. Whenever we had hurricane in Florida he will be the first one to call and find our about our safety. Sometimes he will share his faith and we would discuss the Scriptures and he would love to talk about his daughter Ida and her husband Steve and his son Arun. He will be delighted to talk about his granddaughters Lydia and Anna. He always talked about their studies and their involvement in sports. I am sure he would have opened his eyes to see Jesus in Heaven. We will continue to pray for his wife Saro and for his son and daughter’s family. May the Lord grant them comfort and Peace as he is safe in the arms of Jesus
I will miss him deeply..May his soul rest in PEACE… God’s protection for Arun, Saro, Ida and Steven fly..also all Draviam fly.
