Dr. Ralph Wayne Love

love-9-2016Dr. Ralph Wayne Love, 67, passed away on September 20, 2016 in Nassau Bay, Texas of Stage IV kidney/bladder cancer which he fought for 2 ½ years. He was born on May 25, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Albert Lincoln Love and Pauline Roberta Tripp-Love. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 33 ½ years, Joanna Margareta Tworek-Love; sons, Jason Brandon Alexander Love along with his wife Veronica Ramirez-Love, Brantley Kyle Allister Love, and Avery Braden Nikolas Love; grandchildren, Jeremiah Dmitrii Alexander Love, and Izabelle Jade Guadalupe Love; and numerous family members and friends.

When his nation called Ralph answered by joining the U.S. Navy, twice. He earned the rank of Commander and earned the Navy Commendation Medal in 1988. He served as a Corpsman and Senior Medical Officer at the Naval Air Station in Dallas.  He earned a degree in chemistry from Midwestern State University. Ralph then attended Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 1981. He did his internship at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital where he met his wife. He then attended UTMB and completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1990.  Then Ralph earned his boards in Emergency Medicine in 1998. He continued his education at University of Houston Clear Lake where he earned his MBA in 2005 and earned the title of “Grand Market Master” in the Marketplace Global Competition in Spring 2005. Ralph earned several Awards of Excellence from the Southeast Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Physician Medical Director until 2014. During his career as an Emergency Room Physician Ralph worked at South East Memorial Hospital, Christus St. Johns Hospital, and First Choice ER in Pearland.

He had a passion for flying gliders and earned his pilot license in 1985. He also enjoyed being involved with Boy Scouts, kayaking, camping, traveling, and spending time his family and wife.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a Trisagion Service at 5:30 pm at Crowder Funeral Home, Webster, TX. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church at 11:30 am, 202 South Walnut, Webster, TX 77598. Lunch will be served immediately following the service at the Parish Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 1:45 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
