Douglas Lewis Cable
Douglas Lewis Cable, 60, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Doug was born to Arzy and Vera (Doud) Cable on April 20, 1960 in San Jose, CA. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Dickinson, Texas and Doug resided there until his death. He attended Dickinson High School and continued to love and support his Dickinson Gators football team throughout his life. A true Texan, Doug loved his BBQ, football, river rafting on the Guadalupe, and Texas Hold ‘Em. He loved life!!
After serving in the Army from 1985-1992, Doug returned home and began his lifelong career in the flooring business. He worked for many years in flooring installation and then in sales at Carpet Giant Houston for 15 years.
Doug is survived by two daughters, Tasha Cable and Lia Cable; one brother, Joel Shurtleff; four stepchildren, Stacy (Corbin) Black, Brandon (Katey) Crackel, JR (April) Dill, and Shauna (Timothy) Hanson; fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. The grandchildren were his greatest love in life. Also surviving is Pamela Cable. Doug and Pam spent twenty years and many good times together. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Roger Cable.

He was a TRUE Gator fan!!!!! I remember him well at all football games when my sons played. He will be missed. Once a Gator, Always a Gator!!!!!
