Dorothy Nell Santina
Dorothy Nell Santina, 97, of Pearland, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 15th, 2024.
Dorothy, born December 26, 1926, to Douglas Dionicious and Nancy Alabama Burkhalter Sr., spent her childhood in Wellborn, TX and was a graduate of A&M. Consolidated High School in 1944. Soon thereafter she married her forever soulmate of 74 years, Richard Mate Della Santina. The Santina’s resided in Pearland for 58 years.
Dorothy, Methodist in faith, was an exceptional cook, loved horses, and had a knack for repairing things. If it was broke, she could fix it. She was known for her strong personality and commitment to family.
Preceded in death by her parents Douglas Dionicious and Nancy Alabama Burkhalter Sr.; late husband Richard Mate Della Santina; sisters Mildred Florine Crouch and Frances Nedra Nordenstrom; brother Douglas Dionicious Burkhalter Jr.
Survived by her Daughter Nancy Lynn Seaman and husband Randy; son Gary Santina; grandchildren Kelly Jeffcote and Scott, Robin Greene and Aaron; and great Grandchildren, Austin Greene, Mason Greene, and Reagan Jeffcote. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Dorothy’s great niece Dana Jackson and the staff of At Your Side Home Care, Plantation Assisted Living, and Bayou City Hospice for your compassionate care and loving support.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Wednesday August 21, 2024, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581 with Reverend Reggie Clemons officiating. Graveside service and internment will follow at 4 p.m. at Wellborn Cemetery in Wellborn, TX.

Deepest condolences to Nancy, Randy and family. Mrs. Santina lived a full life filled with love for her family. I’ll never forget how she made curtains for the dorm room that I shared with Nancy! Mrs.Santina had a lively personality and an always welcoming smile. It’s time to celebrate her life!
