Dona Jean Barnett
Dona Jean Barnett, “Jeanie” of Santa Fe, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was born on August 11, 1934 in Noble County, Indiana to the late Lowell O. and Ethel S. Delanoy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Barney Barnett, and her brother, Richard Delanoy. After leaving the family farm, young Jeanie set out to discover the world, and did she succeed! She was married and lived in several cities on the East Coast before moving to California. She moved from CA to Saudi Arabia and back again. She found herself in La Porte, Texas, in the late 70’s and slowly worked her way around Galveston County to Santa Fe. She was a model, secretary, housewife, and a betting buddy at Gulf Greyhound Park in the 90’s. Jeanie lived the life of three, and enjoyed every minute. She is survived by her sister Kathy Lemmon, her daughter Joanne Wolf, her sons Don and David Siler, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her “adopted son” Doug Rotenberry, as well as host of friends scattered across the globe. Her spunk and radiating light will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the home of Judge and Carol Nelson, 12855 FM 1764, Santa Fe, TX 77510, starting at 2 p.m. Special thanks to Shirley Juroska for her loyalty and special care of Miss Jeanie.
