Don Michael Taylor
Don Michael Taylor, of Clear Lake Shores, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Nassau Bay, Texas at the age of 76. He was born on May 16, 1948 in Pampa, Texas to Norma and Donald Tunnell.
Don loved his family tirelessly. He supported his family endlessly in all their endeavors. He demanded respect, not towards him per say, but to all those he engaged with. There was a right and wrong way to love and support your family, friends and neighbors. He was always the first to volunteer, always up for any type of event that brought people together, and he never shied away from someone in need.
He raised his children in Church of Christ in League City, much like he was raised himself. His faith and belief in God were real and strong. The influence he had on our family is indescribable, he was trusted and sought out in all things in life. He was someone you could count on every single time you needed him.
His devotion to his family shined brightly in his endless work ethic and tireless drive to support them. He worked as an operator for many years at Amoco (now BP) in Texas City, then transitioning to a sales management position at Welchem, and finally spent his final years as an integral and trusted employee at TDS in Clear Lake City, where his lifetime of knowledge in the oil and chemical plant business was put to work as a training writer for companies all over the world, with full retirement in 2024.
Travel and adventure was always a part of Don’s life. Business travel took Don to Europe, the Middle East and South America (with Ane as a stow away) but leisure travel in more recent years brought cruising to Alaska and travel to Hawaii, Mexico and Canada.
Later in life he developed a strong passion for The Sanctuary Foster Care Services organization and could be found volunteering on a regular basis.
Don was the most honest, loving, caring and respectful person we have ever known, he will be missed greatly, but his lessons, love, examples and insight will live on forever. We are forever grateful to have been blessed with him in our lives.
He was preceded in death by his sister Terry Lynn Flanagan; mother Norma Taylor; father Robert “Bob” Taylor. Birth Father Donald Tunnell.
Don is survived by his wife Andrea(Ane); sons Mike Taylor and wife Kristin, Pat Taylor and wife Brandi; daughter Allison Soileau and husband Greg; sons Jordan Lerbs and wife Regina, Terran Schackor; sister Rhonda Robertson and husband Jim; brother Randy Taylor and wife Amber; grandchildren Hannah Taylor, Lindsay Taylor, Sydni Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Sam Hemminghaus, Jack Hemminghaus, Olivia Hemminghaus, Quentin Soileau, Sevrin Stewart, Jordan Taylor, Jonah Taylor, Jami Taylor, Brittany Olson (Nick), Brooke Solomon Zach, Montana Tracy; great-grandchildren Jaxson and Hazel Olson and many other loving family and friends.
The Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00pm with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 1 o’clock at Crowder Funeral Home – WEBSTER LOCATION, 111 East Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests support for two of Don’s favorite organizations, Tunnel To Towers Foundation https://t2t.org or The Sanctuary Foster Care Services http://www.thesantuaryhoustontx.com in his memory.

Don and I became acquainted when he was the Welchem representative at the Amoco refinery. Later when he was a TDS project manager I had the pleasure to work closely with him on several refinery projects. Finally, after my retirement we worked together at TDS. He was a man of integrity whom I admired very much. My condolences to Ane, his family and all his friends at TDS.
Being associated with “Uncle Don’s” family since the early 2000’s allowed several occasions to visit with him, hear his stories, feel his warm presence and laughter. He was Tracy’s uncle but at the same time, felt like my own. He had a pleasantness about him that’s unforgettable. Uncle Don was truly one-of-a -kind. Rest in peace, sweet man.
