Dessie Frances Long, 85, passed away on November 11, 2022, in Texas City, Texas. She was born on May 6th, 1937, in Zion, Arkansas to Jonathan & Elizabeth  Birmingham. Dessie is survived by: son, Danny Huskey and wife, Graciela, of Houston, TX and son, Steven Huskey, of Houston, TX; sister, Eula Mae Huskey of Strawberry, AR; brother, Carl Birmingham of Strawberry. AR; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Teer, Michael Hicks, Matthew Huskey, Michelle Huskey, Nick Huskey, Jacob Huskey, Krista Huskey, David Huskey, Rachel Huskey, Christopher Huskey, and Clay Cline; and 6 great-grandchildren, Jessica Teer, Audrey Liam, Sterling, & Ethan Huskey, and Destiny Hicks Evans; 3 great-great grandchildren, Nature, Brycesin, & Willow Evans, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, and friends. Dessie is preceded death by her: husband. D.J. Hicks; daughter, Deborah Hicks Teer, parents, her Carl Birmingham, Audrey Birmingham Lambert, Pauline Birmingham Lisk, Bessie Birmingham, Tressie Birmingham Lawson, Thelma Birmingham Phillips, Zelpha Birmingham & Velma Faye Birmingham Clemons.

Dessie loved to spend time with family and friends, and she especially loved her grandchildren. She was a faithful follower of the Lord all of her life.
