  1. Dear Derek Broderson, I know that once we departed the great city of Portales, New Mexico, we would all get going with our lives. Some of us stayed in touch and some of us grew apart. You and I talked a couple of times over the years and it seemed as our lives had taken on a routine of its own. I have married twice since and I’ve had three wonderful children, Pecos, Brianna and Lucas.

I know your body and mind are gone but you have left all of us with awesome memories. Those are the ones we hang on to. I remember our football lives and struggles we left on the field. I remember one-one battles we had, you might have beat me a couple of times. The thing that I tell people about are the teammates I had. That’s what makes it real. The life-long relationships you will make. I love being your friend. R. I. P. Brother Hound!!!
