Deborah “Debby” Kay Crumpton Pruitt
Deborah “Debby” Kay Crumpton Pruitt, 64, resident of Katy, Texas, passed away August 16, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She was born May 31, 1950 in Galveston, Texas. She moved to Bacliff in 1966 along with her mother, and opened Debby’s Dari Dip, a local family restaurant and gathering place. She graduated Dickinson High School in 1968 and then attended U of H. She worked at Southwestern Bell/AT&T and also UTMB in Sales and Telecommunications. Debby was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dickinson. She was a Past Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star for both the Dickinson Chapter #1024 and Texas City Chapter #626 and over the years she had many OES Grand Appointments for the State of Texas. She was a member of Business and Professional Women, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Speakers Committee. Debby loved her grandchildren, family, and friends, lived life to the fullest, and always had a smile on her face and love in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Lee Luker Crumpton and Kenneth Earl Crumpton.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Pruitt; daughter, Becky Manney and husband David; grandchildren, Keith Manney, and Kaylynn Manney; cousins, Sandra Johnson and husband Mike, Mike Emery and wife Rosie, and Carolyn Milner; brother-in-law, Bill Pruitt and wife Beverly; and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson with interment following at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Debby Pruitt Memorial at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Paul & Becky- I am so sorry to hear we lost Debby. We worked together in Houston, Texas City & Galveston. She was a great employee and I always considered her my friend. We send our prayers.

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the recent loss of your dear loved one. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May the God of comfort be with you in this time of sorrow. May these words bring you hope, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) This promise will be fulfilled one day, until then, may all your memories sustain you in the days to come.
Paul, you’ll always be my hero because of the intensity of your love for Debby, and how you never took “can’t be done” as an answer during her medical treatment. I can’t be there for her service, but Kitty will be to help with the OES part. My heart is sad for both you and Becky, and I offer my deepest and most sincere sympathy.
Paul and Becky; I truly adored Debby. I had great fun quilting with her and she was so precious to me in the loss of my mother. Thank you so much for letting me be there for her in the final weeks. She had an incredible spirit that I will cherish forever.
I was so saddened to hear of Debby’s passing. I was able to have a wonderful visit with her at our last high school reunion. I’m remembering now all the great times we had in high school. I will always treasure those memories.

Paul – I’m not sure if you remember me but I’m Debbie Norris Bankston . I used to live there in the apartments next to your parents in Texas City. I also worked at Little Chief and Academy and y’all would come in a talk to me. I want to tell you how sorry I was to read that Debby had passed away.
