David “Scot” Maust

We remember David (Scot) Maust, who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 66. Scot was a vibrant, genuine, and truly kind man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was born on September 24, 1958, in Tucson, Arizona to William John and Georgia Louise Maust. Growing up in a military family, Scot moved around a lot, but his fondest memories included the time spent during his youth on his family’s farm in Oklahoma.

Scot earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Tarleton State University. He was a home builder and remodeler and owned Align Pro, LLC. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and engraving and loved making beautiful custom designs. He had a passion for fishing and was most relaxed and content by the water. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Stephanie in June 2007 and the two spent many happy years together traveling, two-stepping, listening to jazz music, and singing out of tune. Scot was a proud father and grandfather and relished in spending time with his family.

Scot is survived by his wife, Stephanie Maust; sons, Scotie Maust, Nick Maust, and Piers Leighton; daughter, Chelsea Richards; brother, Brad Maust; grandchildren, Koltin, Caitlyn, Cade, Sage, Dalten, Dayten, and Hayden Maust; and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother, Greg Maust.

A memorial will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 2pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 18300 Upper Bay Rd, Houston, TX 77058.
