David Edward Maxwell
David Edward Maxwell (also lovingly known by his grandsons as Mr. Dave or Lt. Dan), 74, a resident of Pearland, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2022. David lived in Pearland for 42 years.
David grew up in Breckenridge, Texas where he was a standout in all sports. He went to college on scholarship to play football and run track at West Texas State in Canyon, Texas. During this time, he married his high school sweetheart Jane Ellen Maxwell. They were married for 57 years.
He started his career with Chevron in 1967 and retired after 46 years. Thirty-eight of those years he spent working internationally in various supervisory positions and locations.
After his retirement, he spent his time irritating his wife, loving his little red dogs, talking on his flip phone to his high school friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Elmer Maxwell and brother Eugene Maxwell.
He leaves behind his wife Jane Ellen Maxwell; daughter Julie Ellen Lawson; son Eric Scott Maxwell and wife Lisa. Grandchildren: Kyle Wayne Lawson and wife Taylor; Kelly Scott Lawson and wife Destiney; Keith David Lawson; Jillian Leigh Ellen Maxwell, and Aidan Sean Maxwell. Great-Grandchildren: Kenzley Addison Davenport, Skylar Ellen Lawson, Knox Wayne Lawson, and Kolson Scott Lawson.
At David’s request, there will be no service. His ashes will be scattered at a later date in a private family ceremony

The BHS Class of 1965 respected and loved David Maxwell. He brought love, laughter, and friendship to everyone here. He will be missed. He showed us by example how important family is–because he loved his family so much. His BHS family was proud of him and his accomplishments. We will all meet again.
God rest your soul, Dave. I truly enjoyed working for you in Angola from 1988 until 1990. You were a very good, honest, trustworthy person in my life.
I was sadden to hear of Dave’s passing and send my dearest sympathy to all of his family! I enjoyed working with Dave in Angola from 1987 to 1996 ! He was a good man and we worked had and played just as hard. May God watch over him and keep him blessed! He will be missed by all who knew him!
