Danielle Louise Hay

The video game industry lost a valuable customer on August 9th, 2024, with the passing of Danielle Louise Hay in Webster, TX. She was born on February 7th, 1967 in Prescott, Arizona, to Sharon Aileen Duffy and Velon Gene Hay.

Danielle was a voracious reader, enjoying books such as smutty fantasy, smutty sci-fi, smutty horror, and occasionally smutty smut. Not content to just read about steamy encounters, she manufactured her own in her other passion, PC RPGs, especially Mass Effect (not the third), Dragon Age (not the second), Elder Scrolls (not the fourth), and The Witcher (not the second). While Danielle did her due diligence to advance the quest line, it was only so she could spend time in camp with her companions, romancing them and dyeing their outfits a myriad of colors. She loved those sweet, sweet dyes. Danielle’s greatest accomplishment is having spent over 500 hours in Baldur’s Gate 3 without ever reaching Act 3. At least we can all be thankful that she died before EA and BioWare could disappoint her with Dragon Age: The Veilguard (“dumb name, change it back to Dreadwolf” – Danielle Hay, 2024).

Dani was preceded in death by her father and her sister Michelle Nicole (Nicky). She is survived by her beloved son Alex and his father Earl; her mother Sharon; her sisters Laurel (and her husband Howard) and Cheryl; her brother Brian; her nieces and nephew: Rachel, Cecil (and his wife Sierra), Lauren (and her husband Will), Cori (and her husband Andrew), Jeanie, Jennifer (and her husband Billy) and Isabelle; her great nieces and nephews: James, Hailey, Kaison, Patrick, Claire, Logan, Danica, Julia, Lillian, Briar and Liam; her aunt Jan and cousin Kenny; and her true loves of her life [her dogs]: Athena and Chloe.

In lieu of memorial service, gifts, or flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Dani’s memory may do so to the San Francisco Humane Society. https://www.sfspca.org/give-1/
