Daniel “Red” Franklin
Daniel “Red” Franklin, 43, of Friendswood, TX passed away on July 5th, 2024 in Galveston, TX. He was born on February 25, 1981 to Diane and Danny Franklin in Houston, TX. Better known as “Red” by everyone, he was one of a kind, and left a lasting impression on all those he met.
Daniel grew up in Baytown, TX and later moved to Houston, TX, where he met his beloved wife Connie Soptick in 2005 and they began their life together. Daniel and Connie were married in 2015 and then moved to Friendswood, TX.
Daniel spent 25 plus years working in the construction industry, until in 2015, Daniel realized his dream and started his own construction company, Rapid Expansion & Development Services, LLC where he was hands on with its operations, and the company thrived.
In 2023, Daniel and Connie welcomed their only daughter, Makenna Wren, who quickly became “Daddy’s girl”. Daniel held many titles in his life, but becoming a father was one of his greatest accomplishments. He loved spending time with Makenna, and looked forward to teaching her some of his favorite things to do including how to fish, hunt and play golf. Daniel loved nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time at the river house with family and friends which often included popping a cold Coors light.
Daniel has a group of friends that he considers his brothers and would do anything for them. There wasn’t a day that went by where they didn’t send a text, have a phone call or just swing by the house for a quick visit. We know that these uncles will keep Daniel’s spirit alive for all of us.
Daniel will be missed by his wife Connie; daughter Makenna Wren; mother Diane Tevis and her husband Mike; father Danny Franklin and his wife Mari; sister Wendy Correa and her husband Gabe; nephew Giovanni Correa; brother Mike Tevis and his wife Kimberly; father and mother in law Keith and Joyce Knussmann; sister in law Lisa Soptick; Dogs Pepper and Cooper.

Father God,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the family of Daniel Franklin as they navigate this time of loss and sorrow. Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your loving presence and grant them comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding.
Be their strength in moments of weakness and their light in times of darkness. Help them to find solace in the cherished memories they hold of Daniel and the love they shared. May they feel Your arms of compassion wrapped around them, providing solace and hope.
We pray for wisdom and guidance as they make necessary arrangements and decisions, and for the support of friends and family to be a source of encouragement and care. Lord, may Your grace sustain Connie, Baby Mac, and all his family and friends through the days ahead and remind them that Daniel’s spirit is with You, resting and reigning in eternal peace.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

He will be missed. will always put a smile on the face, loved by family and friends. Want to say is in a better place. but he was in the right place. Leaves behind a strong woman, an adoring daughter and a school of friends and family. I will bet he is looking down with watchful eyes, still doing what he can. he is probably on a fishing boat with God. showing him the hot spots. Can you imagine the “one that got away stories”
Again, he will be missed.
These boys that through school, marrige, kids of their own all stayed friends to this day. I watched them forge these bonds when they were young and it still exists today. I found it fascinating that the love and exuberance spilled over to the parents and siblings of these self prclaimed “cousins” or brothers. A family was built and bonded and will stand forever this way. DANIEL was a part of our family. We hold a special place in our heart for him. His place is forever there , yes, it will always be there. Love you forever and a day.
