Cynthia Al-Sahli

Cynthia Al-Sahli, of League City, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Webster, Texas, at the age of 68. She was born on August 22, 1956, in Manila, Philippines, to Felicisimo and Roselina Recio.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Felicisimo and Roselina Recio, her brother, Roberto Mojica Recio, and three beloved grandchildren: Ezra Al-Sahli, Elsie Al-Sahli, and Enzo Al-Sahli.

She is survived by her seven sisters and one brother, her loving husband, Abdul Al-Sahli, and their three children: son Prince and his wife Marissa, son Jonathan and his wife Karina, and daughter Sarah. Cynthia is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren: Easton, London, Elias, and Mila.

As the oldest of nine siblings, Cynthia took on a leadership role in her family from a young age. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, always putting her family first. Cynthia was known for her no-nonsense personality, but those who knew her best knew that beneath her tough exterior was a woman with a heart full of love and kindness. She was selfless in her actions, always the first to help anyone in need, and would give the shirt off her back if it meant making someone else’s day better.

A skilled planner and organizer, Cynthia brought her impeccable attention to detail to everything she did, whether running successful businesses with her husband and daughter or organizing family gatherings down to the finest detail. Her ability to plan and care for the smallest things was a true testament to her love for those around her.

Cynthia was also a deeply spiritual person. Though she did not attend any particular house of worship, she lived her life in accordance with God’s will, always striving to do what was right and good in His eyes.

Cynthia’s legacy will live on through her family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2-6:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 110 E South St, Alvin, TX 77511. Interment will follow the Mass at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
