Teresa, Bill and family,
We are so saddened to learn of Col Orton’s death. Our thoughts and prayers are
With you in the loss of your Dad. We have fond memories of you from Ft Leonard Wood when Col Orton was 2d Brigade Commander. Fun times there and also after we all moved to Virginia.
Wanted you to know we were thinking of you all.
Much love to you.
Jo and Ed Colburn
Teresa, Bill and family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy at this sad time. My husband,
M.G. Robert P Young , commanded Ft Leonard Wood at the time your
father was the 2nd Brigade Commander. We shared so many great
times together and we always cherished their friendship. My prayers
are with you.
With my love,
Bettye Young Thursday, March 16,2017
Dear Theresa and Bill,
Art and I were saddened to learn of your father’s passing. He was one of our favorite people, both at Fort Leonard Wood where he led a brigade and in the DC area where he and Art both worked for the Charles E. Smith Company. He was a good man. We have missed him.
We hope to see you at the funeral at Arlington.
Love, Ann
I worked for Colonel Orton from April 1977-December, 1979 at the Army Military Personnel Center in Alexandria, Virginia. He was a great guy to work for, and we spent a lot of time in the “19th Hole” at the Ft. Belvoir Golf Course.
Rest in Peace, Sir.
As a person that was in the Korean war, I wish I could have meet the col. and I come from a long line of Orton’s and I don’t no but we may have been family.
