Clarence Robert Litaker
Clarence Robert Litaker, of League City, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at his home in League City, Texas at the age of 84 surrounded by friends and family. He was born on June 15, 1940 in Mt. Creek, Alabama to Clarence and Velma Litaker.
Clarence (Bob) Litaker was a dedicated family man, neighbor, and former refinery worker and shipbuilder who enjoyed playing golf and reading in his leisure time. His proudest moments were the time that he raised his son, and later his sons daughter while his son was deployed to Afghanistan with the United States Army. “Bob” was known as the cool grandad on the block who always let his granddaughters friends on the street to come over and play and always felt compelled to send them home with full stomachs. “Bob” also enjoyed the times he was able to spend with his grandson who lived out of state, yet he kept in contact with him daily while discussing things such as NASCAR and other sporting events. “Bob” was affiliated with White Pond Baptist Church in White City, Alabama where he will be laid to rest.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence, and Mother Velma Litaker , his brother Ed Litaker, and sister Lola Mae Parker and daughter in-law Pamela Catherine Litaker.
Bob is survived by his wife Janice Litaker, his son Michael Litaker and wife Beatrice Litaker, his granddaughter Ashley Nicole Litaker, and Grandson John Michael Litaker.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 5-7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573.
A Grave Side Ceremony will follow on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at White Pond Baptist Cemetery, in White City, Alabama under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, 1300 4th Ave N, Clanton, AL 35045, (205) 755-3550.
What a great friend and neighbor! Very kind man with a great sense of humor. My dogs and I used to visit with him on our walks, when he’d be sittin outside enjoying the neighborhood. He loved his own pups and everyone else’s too. I was blessed to have seen him a few times in the past few months when I was in the neighborhood and he will be dearly missed.
My prayers are with you Janice, and the rest of your family.
Love you,
geri
I will miss my sweet brother. We talked or texted each other daily.
We had some fun times growing up and I could always count on him
to keep me informed on current events. He had such a great love for his family
and country!
Janice, my prayers are with you, Michael, Ashley, John & Bea. I love you.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Janice, you and the family are in my prayers. I loved Bob. He was such a dog lover and a very dear friend to Marty and I.
I am a neighbor on the street where they live and Bob “Sunny” loved to talk to us and pet my dog when he used to sit outside, enjoying being outside and greeting everyone walking by. He was such a kind and friendly man. His wife Janice took wonderful care of him and I know she will miss him dearly. Janice – my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
Mike spoke about his dad a lot, I never met him, but it felt like I knew him for years.
Mike told me funny stories as we drove to Huntsville, AL a few times for work. Rest in Peace, Prayers for your family.
Sonny was like a grandfather to my kids he always talked about taking Ashley and Olivia to the golf course when they were younger and how they would take the golf cart to get snacks and ran up a tab for him, that was a fond memory for him as well as the girls. He will be missed dearly.
Janice you know if you need anything we are here for you.
We love you very much.
We will miss our Uncle Sonny!
I will miss my Dad very much. I would not be where I am today had it not been for his tireless efforts of raising me and always providing me with the guidance and things I needed to become successful in life. I am glad I was able to be here with him in his last days and hope he left this world knowing that he would not have to worry about Mom as it is my job now to ensure she is taken care of. From Me, Bea, Ashley and Big John…..we love you and will so miss hearing your voice and conversations. Until we meet again……..
I can remember the days when he would go to the ridge runner to get hotdogs for the dogs…and the dogs would always follow him to the kitchen because something would always come out of the fridge for them. He was very much a dog lover! He was a kind a generous man!
My prayers go out to your family!
He was a very loved man and many people including me will miss him. Sonny was a very awesome and nice guy, he was like a grandpa to me, I have known him all my life and he is great. Fly high ❤️
Janice I just found out about Sonny (someone, I don’t know who but probably Sharon,
just sent me the obituary). I am so sorry I did not find out in time to be with you tonight at the visitation. You two have been married a long time and been in Texas a long time also. I remember when you first moved here, and you would always clarify everything as being back home. Well, he has gone home now and is with his Lord and Savior. May the peace of Christ get you through these next few days and if there is anything I can do for you just give me a call.
Your friend in Christ
Sondra
