It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Dee Stephens beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dedicated school administrator, who left us peacefully on March 20, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born on November 11, 1947 in Port Arthur, Texas, Cheryl was a beacon of love and compassion throughout her life. She devoted over 30 years to the field of education, serving as a teacher and school principal at Hall and Goforth Elementaries in the Clear Creek school district with unwavering commitment and passion. Her leadership and dedication shaped the lives of countless students and educators, inspiring a love for learning in everyone she encountered.
Beyond her professional achievements, Cheryl was a pillar of strength and support for her family. She cherished her role as a wife to her husband of 58 years, Jim Stephens, offering unwavering love and companionship. As a mother, she raised two children, instilling in them values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing their dreams and aspirations.
Cheryl was also deeply involved in her church community, where she found purpose and fulfillment. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she actively participated in various outreach programs, helping those in need and fostering a sense of belonging among church members.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Stephens, her children, Jill Ball (Cary) and Jeff Stephens (Colleen), her cherished grandchildren, Kirby Ball (Deah), Brandon Ball, Lyndsey Ball, Kylie Ball, Isaac Stephens, Tallulah Stephens, Penelope Stephens, and great grandson, Sebastian Ball. Cheryl will be remembered for her warm smile, her generous spirit, and her unwavering belief in the goodness of people.
On Saturday March 29, 2025, Cheryl’s family will greet guests at 10:30 am followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 A.M. at Nassau Bay Baptist Church, 18131 Nassau Bay Drive, Nassau Bay, Texas.
Though she may no longer be with us, Cheryl’s love and impact will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
